Obiectives:
The understanding and assimilation by students of theoretical and practical knowledge regarding:
› the structure of raw and auxiliary materials in use in the preparation of food products;
› the parameters specific to various technologies in use for the preparation and processing of food products;
› the characteristics and operation of equipment specific to the food industry;
› the identification of contaminants along the food chain, of fake food products by using modern testing equipment;
› the expectations and feeding behaviour of consumers;
› hygiene and quality requirements in the food industry;
› the elaboration of marketing research in the food industry.
The involvement of students in the activities that our department organizes (scientific sessions dedicated to students, attendance in professional contests in food industry – related topics, etc.) will allow them:
› to get familiar with team work, to plan their own activities in a coherent way;
› to hone the skills to address a public audience, to substantiate their opinions, to develop a field – specific vocabulary;
› to develop empathy; to develop problem solving and decision making abilities;
› to set clear and measurable goals and ability to select adequate implementation ways to reach them.
Professional options after graduation:
Graduates can work in the capacity of engineer in the following sectors:
› Meat, milk, cereal mills and bread processing, fermentative products (alcohol, beer, wine, tobacco, yeast, sugar, edible oil, etc.) sectors;
› Quality control and quality audit of food products;
› Customs control;
› The distribution of food products;
› Sanitary - Veterinary and Food Security Authority;
› Public Health Authority;
› Protectia Mediului;
› Consumer Protection Authority;
› Environment Protection Authority;
› Research and design work for the food sector;
› Inspectors for quality systems implementation.
Only the graduation of both the classes in the Didactic Training Department and of the Master Studiea will allow graduates to further apply to become teaching staff at high –school, university level, the enrollment in doctoral studies or in scientific research.
